About this site
I’ve put this website together mainly to provide myself the ability to play with content management systems. However, with my many code-base changes and drastic alterations in the site, I’ve gradually lost my enthusiasm for large all-inclusive CMS systems. Many times they are too large and complicated for what really is a very simple task, to provide an outlet for information, opinions, citizen journalism, and for the ever-beloved ranting and raving.
For groups of people, most often the best type of content management system would either be the Wiki, or the forum, providing the users with the vehicle to create their own content. There are several websites I’ve noticed where the major activity is not on their front pages, but on the forums, issue trackers, and chat areas. Anything you have to put the information together is sufficient for your needs, but you must provide for your anticipated users an outlet for their own opinions. Putting this together is the best way, in my humble and amateur opinion, to build a lasting web-based community.
